Miriam Peck was a pioneering and innovative Cleveland artist of numerous exploratory mediums throughout her career, primarily working in Cleveland.  She was from a family of artists, often dubbed the "Painting Pecks", who consisted of her mother Edith (also represented in this sale), and brother James.  Miriam showed her work frequently at the notable "May Show" at the Cleveland Museum of Art.  This particular work won an award in watercolor, and amazingly, still includes the award label issued her with the work itself.
